Beautiful Boy

alexweek1-29Because the world might end tomorrow, I figured I had just this precious one day left to share photos from Alexander’s first week on Earth. The first week of a child’s life is, by the way, just bananas. As soon as you kind of think you have a thing figured out, he’s already grown past that. One day you don’t have milk yet to feed him, the next day you have SO MUCH, and then you’re feeding for roughly 2 hours straight – with a poopy diaper or two in between – until the wee hours and you’re just SO TIRED but you gotta do it again the next day. They warn you about all this. The late night feedings and cry sessions are hugely exhausting for everyone involved. You don’t realize how exhausting it is until you are in the thick of it. alexweek1-24

In fact, it took me several hours to get this blog up because little man needed to be fed and diapered a couple times. 👍🏻alexweek1-17alexweek1-47alexweek1-48alexweek1-3alexweek1-1This was when we took him home from the hospital. You’ll notice I have the Fine Little Day Gran print everywhere (as well as this blanket from Target). It’s kinda part of Alex’s motif now. He wears it really well.alexweek1-8alexweek1-10alexweek1-33alexweek1-35alexweek1-44alexweek1-46alexweek1-42

In the next week or so I’ll be sharing our birth story – it’s a real doozy! For now we’ll be soaking up our time with him and crossing our fingers that America makes good choices tomorrow!
